Text message consent

Support call

A customer calls OpenPPG Support at +1 330 331 0243 with a question, including a request for a link to more information. Before any text is sent, staff read this script aloud:

“I can text you a link about this at the number you're calling from. OpenPPG will text that link and any follow-up about this question. Message frequency varies and is as needed for this conversation. Message and data rates may apply. You can reply STOP to opt out. Is it okay if I send that text?”

The customer says yes. That yes is the consent to text the number they are calling from. The first text names OpenPPG and includes “Reply STOP to opt out.” Later texts in that conversation can be the link itself.

Checkout

A customer can also opt in while checking out an order. After they add a product, checkout is at https://openppg.com/checkout/. The Contact step has a required Phone field. Directly under that field the page says:

“OpenPPG may text you about this order, including confirmations, questions needed to fulfill it, and shipping updates. Message frequency varies and is as needed for your order. Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to opt out.”

The words Privacy Policy and Terms in that notice link to https://openppg.com/privacy-policy/ and https://openppg.com/terms/. The customer enters their mobile number under that notice and continues checkout.

What these texts are

These texts are customer care about the customer’s order or the question they called about. OpenPPG does not use a keyword, paper form, or QR code to opt in, and does not send promotional blasts.
